A quick gallery of the pictures from recent games. Over the past year we have played a good selection of games including; What a Tanker, Chain of Command, Men who would be Kings, SAGA, Lion Rampant, Test of Honour, General d'Armee, Lord of the Rings, X-Wing, Wings of War, Cruel Seas, Dead Man's Hand and Command Decision. So it's been a busy year and here are some highlights!
Cruel Seas
Cruel Seas is getting a good run at the moment, Greg has his destroyer roaming the seas looking for easy targets...and I've just finished my British starter fleet...which unfortunately seems to meet Greg's wishes. Anyway, first up we did Scenario 3, the Rescue Mission as a refresher on the rules. This was a very narrow British victory; thanks to Paul for the pictures.
Zulu Wars
Using the Men Who Would Be Kings rules...good for a bit of fun, but I wouldn't mind trying Black Powder or another set of rules for these engagements.
SAGA
My favourite game at the moment; playing our version 1.2 rules. We need to play another campaign...I reckon a map based campaign this time with conquering territory as a key feature.
Chain of Command and What a Tanker
This was an Ambush scenario that I devised. One force waiting along the side of a road to ambush an adversary cruising along in convoy. We played it twice, and both times the ambushed force won the day...however, this was primarily due to the fact that on both occassions the ambushers failed to play to their brief and got bogged down in a protracted firefight rather than ambushing and bugging out. If you looked at the forces in the scenario you would say that it's not balanced, the force being ambushed is much larger than the ambushing force. The other significant factor in the second battle (sorry Phil) was that the Germans got three turns in a row due to their command dice rolls...bit of bad luck that!
